emailAddress property is not returned in the response of JiraWebAPI

For some user stories, I am able to get email address in assigneed field. But for some stories which are not assigned to me, I am not able to get email address in the response in Assignee field. Is there any changed in terms of the assignee field. Please let me know, so that I can make changes to handle this new change in the jira rest api.

If the same user creates the workitem, still the email address is returned in reported field. How it can be different behavior for same type (i.e., user)
