×Hi
There is an (i) symbol on some custom fields when hovering over them but I can't figure out how to edit it
I have deleted the copy from the custom field description and the field configuration scheme but the copy is still showing when I hover over the (i)
I would like to update this copy with text that is helpful to the field
How do I do this?
Thanks
Sherry
Hi @Sherry Nightingale , you will need to remove the custom field description from every field configuration associated with your project.
First of all, go to the Project your field is in.
If the above doesn't work you will need to update the custom field description from the Instance wide settings.
Let me know if the above is helpful, I can help you further if you provide some screenshots from your project settings. Please accept my answer if it was helpful!
Hi Marios - I was able to remove the comment from each of the CS Cost options but now I can't get back to where I was and update just a few of the CS Cost options
There are four screens
- create
- edit
- view
- complete (workflow)
I only want copy on the edit and complete screens ideally just when you hover over the CS Cost field (i)
I don't know why I struggle so much :-(
I can't provide screen grabs unfortunately because I don't know what screen grabs to provide you with

Hi Sherry,
So, are you going to Settings > Issues > Custom Fields and then doing an Edit on the custom field? This is the description for the field.

Hi John

That symbol is not unique to screens - it goes with the field. Editing the description for the custom field applies to the field no matter where it appears. Editing the description in the Field Configuration will only apply to that project if that is what you are wanting. But it will apply to the Issue Type at the most minute level, not screens, unless the screens use different issue types.
