×ok, let me see if I can explain this correctly. On our active sprint board we have 6 swimlanes. (TODO, IN PROGRESS, TESTING, SME APPROVE, PO APPROVE, and DONE). Some of these swimlanes have 2 drop zones when you go to drag an issue to the next swimlane. For example if I try to drag an issue from IN PROGRSS to TESTING the TESTING swimlane has two zones(ready for test and Testing). I know this has something to do with either workflow or workflow scheme but I can't find a clear answer to how and fix this so it only has 1 landing zone.
Hello,
Just to synchronize us with terminology. What you call swimlanes are actually columns. If you go to the board settings -> columns, you will see that there are multiple statuses mapped to a single column. That is why you have 2 drop zones (it means 2 statuses are mapped to the column and there are 2 transitions, which are leading from the current status to the status with the 2 drop zones.)
Just like I told Tansu, I went to board setting -> columns but it does not show me the transitions. Should I be accessing these setting from another location than from the active sprint screen?

What the columns show?

They just show the column titles in a box below the color bar and the number of issues below that.

I mean you should go to the board settings and choose the columns tab

Ok. Could you open the workflow for the issue, which you try to move, and see transitions which leads from the current status to the status, where you move the issue.
You should go to the Project settings -> workflows

ok, so do I view the workflow as text or as diagram? Here is diagram view:

You have to edit the workflow, then you'll get a button to swap between text and diagram.

The problem is that you have two transitions for each status. Then one is a global transition (All) and the second one from one status to another. You need to delete redundant transitions.
Enter the Edit mode for the workflow and make changes. It does not matter if you do this changes in the text mode or in the diagram mode.

Ok, let me play with this for awhile and see if I can fix it. thank you!

Fixing this when it was not clear what was the correct transition to delete just seemed like a disaster so I just created a new workflow that was properly setup(after doing a lot of reading) and replaced my workflow.

Hi @Jeff Campbell,
Do you mean 6 swimlanes or columns?
This is an expected behavior. Because there are two different statuses in workflow (Ready for test and Testing) mapped to one column (Testing). These statuses are available from In Progress. So, when you drag an issue, it asks you to drop the desired area.
Go to board setting -> columns and redesign it according to your needs.
