Hi,

In Jira, when I go

Releases --> Click on a release and then look at the summary counts on header by status, I see below count groups configured in our JIRA.

1) Issues in Version - Shows all statuses

2) Issues Done - Shows status = Closed

3) Issues in Progress - Shows issues with statuses Resolved + In Progress

4) Issues to do - Shows status = Open

My Question is, I want to separate No. 3 above as

3) Issues Resolved - Status = Resolved

4) Issues In Progress - Status = In Progress.

Is there a way I can edit this release page? What configuration options? What is this summary header called so I can tell my JIRA admin or search more on web.

Thanks for help.

Nikhil.

Hi Nikhil,

There are three basic categories a status can fit into.

"To do" - represents an issue in which work has not started.
"In progress" - represents an issue that is currently being worked on
"Done" - represents an issue that is complete.

These categories get mapped to statuses that can be named anything you'd like. The release summary page will sort issues into the three categories above. Since you're seeing issues in the status name "Resolved" showing up under the Issues in Progress heading, I suspect that the problem originates from the workflow. Specifically there is a workflow status with the name "Resolved" that is categorized as "In Progress".

I'd recommend having an admin look at the workflow for the project, and if the status "Resolved" is yellow it confirms my theory. If that's the case, changing the category type to "Done" will correct the release summary behavior.  This change may have unintended results depending how the workflow has been designed, so backing up the workflow is recommended.   This knowledge base article outlines how to change the status category in detail so I'll include it for reference.
