Hi,
I would just need confirmation for this - Remaining Estimate field is not visible on create issue screen despite having Time tracking added on mentioned screen/issue operation? I can clearly see Original Estimate field when creating new issue but not Remaining Estimate as well.
Also, on new issue transition experience, once Time tracking is added, both remaining and original estimates are visible.
Cheers,
Tom
Hello,
Certainly! It seems that the Remaining Estimate field is not visible on the create issue screen, even though you’ve added Time Tracking. To address this, follow these steps:
Field Configuration: Ensure that the Time Tracking field is unhidden in the Field Configuration for the relevant issue type. You can do this by navigating to the Field Configuration and clicking the Show button to add the Time Tracking field to the screens associated with issue creation or editing.
Configure Screen: Make sure you’ve included the Time Tracking field in the Configure Screen option. When creating or configuring an issue, specify the Original Estimate in the dedicated field. This change will allow you to see both the estimated and remaining time in your issue panel.
Screen Scheme: If the estimates are still there but not visible, check your Screen Scheme. As a Jira Admin, verify if the estimation field is present in the Configure Screen admin section3.
Remember to adjust these settings to ensure a seamless experience with time tracking estimates in Jira.

Thanks @Misty Moore
I'm aware of required configs in order to be able to edit this value. I just needed confirmation of this system/UI behavior.

Hi Tomislav,
It wouldn't really make sense for it to be on the Create screen as you shouldn't be populating it during create, but it should be calculated when time is tracked/entered.

Hi @John Funk ,
Yeah, I definitely agree that it probably shouldn't be visible there but I didn't notice this before (probably as I never had to change it), and one client is asking about it as they are migrating from server so I just wanted to check.
Thanks!
