Restricting access to a field to a user or group of users ?

Here's my question for today :

can we restrict the editing of a field (writing) to a user or group of users, apart from a condition during a transition ?

Atlassian doesn’t natively offer field-level permissions (just project-level permissions where users either have edit access or they don’t), but you can have a look at AddOns

Apps like Secure Custom Fields for Jira offer more advanced field-level permission capabilities and might be a good fit for your needs.
