Unable to add users to view a dashboard

We are unable to add users to view a dashboard, previously this hasn't been an issue. It is stuck as a private Dashboard, that i can only see. The editor option has the ability to add users or groups etc..... I would suspect the same drop downs to be available for adding viewers.

Is this a bug?

Any ideas would be appreciated?

Pls check if you have already provided the access to edit dashboard, you can not provide view access to same group. By default they will get view access.

Do you have this problem with any other dashboards you have created?

Does it happen to other users that have private dashboards?

Can you provide a screen image of what you see when trying to change the viewers for the dashboard? You should see options like this:
