I have one jira issue (story) that we are unable to log work on now. There has been some work logged on this issue before, and no problem, but now we cannot log any work on it.
This issue was originally created 06.04.2017 and is used in a sprint. work has been logged on it 01.08.2018, 29.10.2018 and 30.10.2018
The issue is currently in a sprint, and has been in various sprints before. I am not seeing what could possibly be wrong.
Three days ago a Tecnical Task was linked to the story issue. I have removed the link, but that did not make a difference.
I have also tried cloning the issue to see if I could log work on the cloned issue (becaus I found this: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Cannot-Log-Work-on-Issues-in-Sprint/qaq-p/619117 ) but that did not work either.
Will be attaching screenshots.
Can someone help.
Best regards
Sigga
Hello,
You do not have the Log Work menu option?
Hi Alexey.
Are you talking about this?
Yes we do, but as soon as we have filled this out, and click "Log work" Jira just says "Error! Something went wrong"

I see. It is not a permission issue. You should look in the altassian-jira.log file.

Hi Do you have any time tracking plugins like tempo installed?

Hi Sigga
I ask because tempo is mentioned is several posts related to work logging.
I'm not an expert on Tempo
Do you need an account set on the issue for tempo logging. I notice yours is blank.

Tom you are a genius.. it was the account.
The account was weird, fixed that and now it works.
Thank you so much for your help.

Hi @Sigridur Harpa Hannesdottir
Have you tried the checks in this KB article
https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/unable-to-log-work-224400725.html
permissions are the usual culprit or workflow conditions
something must be different about this issue to the other, hard part is systematically spotting it :-)

The assignee is trying to log work. I have also tried logging work and several other people.
The workflow is used for several other issue types and there is not problem logging work on them. I also logged work on another issue in the same project, same issue type, no problem there.
