I am currently looking into JIRA add-on for test management. I am inclined towards XRay over Zephyr because of the cost differences. Any Xray user please share your experience. How did you find Xray? Also , any one using Xray for cloud?
Thanks
Sarah
Hi @Sarah Salim
We have evaluated both options a few years ago and have chosen Xray. The main reason was that it was better integrated with Jira and we are happy of this choice today. We have started the migration from HP ALM to Xray and there is an Xray utility to do that quickly.
We were really impressed with how easy it is to integrate to the rest of our DevOps tools. We have Xray integrated with Cucumber for test automation and Apwide Golive, the Jira app for Release and Test Environments Management.
We are using Jira Server, not Jira Cloud, and we are not yet using the Xray Mobile App that has been released recently.
I encourage you to request demos from both editors in order to compare the 2 solutions based on your own use cases. I remember that the Xray team was very supportive and helped us a lot when we started to rollout their solution.
Cheers,
David
Hi,
Have you used Xray Traceability Report? I am not seeing the report listing all requirements (in our case requirement issue types are Story and Bug) when I use a Saved Filter.
Thanks,
Ugandhar

Hi David B (Nestle)
We are considering XRay for Jira as a replacement for our existing test Case management system. However, we are concerned about the impact this might have on a regular (non-tester) Jira users. I work at Red Hat and we have a heavy load of continuous integration tests running which results. I was wondering if you could she some more light on your experience with XRay either here or via email.
thanks,
Brian M. (red hat)

I don't have any experience with Xray, but my team uses Zephyr for our test management. The price may be a bit higher, but I have never had an issue with it. It has fulfilled all our needs for the past year. We are able to create test cases that we can use with each product release. Zephyr keeps track of all the defects we find, which allows us to see our success with eliminating problems. The dashboard gadgets are great too. They present us with graphical and tabular views of our testing status. This is a huge feature for us as we can look quickly to see where attention is needed, which software releases are failing more than others, and what products may need more or less testing in the future. The integration with JIRA is excellent as defects found during testing are linked to the bug issue. The Development Team can see what we are finding during our testing and how frequently we are finding it.

I am using XRAY currently in trial mode and have certain questions/issues raised while I investigate this tool
Thought it might be useful for you.
