in a real project management context when using an epic, one wants to have as the "original estimation" the sum of the "original estimations" of all the tasks "underlying" the epic. Is it possible that with Jira Datacenter this function, so necessary and so obvious, is not present? Some of you I'm sure have already solved it, can you give me some hints possibly without using runner scripts or other additional plugins?
Perhaps with Automation for Jira?

Hello @[deleted]

Yes, there is a solution with Jira Automations by using the lookup function. Please check this community thread:

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/Automation-Fill-the-Estimate-of-Epic-with-the-Sum-of-all-issues/qaq-p/1621946

Hope this helps and will provide the answer for what you are seeking :)

Kind regards,

Chris
