remove remaining estimate field

Can the unused fields be removed with scriptrunner? they are causing confusion.

They're not fields, it's all one field.  So, no, you can't get a handle on the bits of the field.

That is what the remaining sum is telling you.

The field that enables:

1. Remaining Estimate
2. Time Spent
3. Original Estimate

is Time Tracking.

You can choose whether or not to show the three of them, with no more granularity than that.

You can hide Time Tracking by any of these methods:

• removing this field from the screens set on your project(s)
• hiding this field from the Field Configuration set on your project(s)
• disabling Time Tracking totally on your instance:

But I did not see navigation to disable "Remaining Estimate" field on time tracking page of your screen shot. Can you please elaborate the navigations

You cannot disable just "Remaining Estimate", but the three Time Tracking fields at once.

That's true no mattering which of the three methods you follow (screens, field configuration or Time Tracking total disablement).

It makes no sense to show the remaining estimate on a story.  It makes sense to have the remaining sum roll up but not the remaining estimate.  Hours are meant for sub-tasks not stories.
