Is it possible to track the workload of my team members as they are assigned to multiple projects.
I need to acknowledge how my workload is assigned to the team members to avoid burn out or project delays.
Is it possible to track this in Jira??
Welcome to the community !!
If would like to try a mktplace app for tracking resource workload and capacity planning, take a look at
The app offers:
1. Resource Tracking and Allocation : The app allows you to monitor and track various resources by adding them as part of a template, and their work allocation across multiple projects / sprints.
2. Real-time Visualization: Provides intuitive charts, graphs to visualize resource utilization and capacity levels in real-time.
3. Full Sprint / Project Fix version Capacity and Monitoring
Hi @Jose Octavio Saenz Pilloni
To extend Trudy's answer, I can say that multi-project workload management is the key feature of Planyway for Jira plugin.
You can visualize teamwork across multiple projects, use the workload view to balance workload, and analyze work through time tracking.

Hello @Jose Octavio Saenz Pilloni
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
How would you calculate workload for your team members?
What type of report do you want to get? A report for the current week or day? Information for multiple weeks/days in the past and/or the future?

Hopefully, I can create a report where I can view all members and their workload, a percentage of tasks assigned, maybe a valuation for different kinds of tasks, and perhaps limit 100% of effort by skill level.
How do you manage how stressed your team members are in your projects??? How do you know if they are assigned to multiple projects, how stressed are they? or if they can get assigned more tasks from other projects that might be needing more resources...
the main focus for me right now is to know if here I can find a solution for this requirement, your prompt advice will be deeply appreciated.

Hello @Jose Octavio Saenz Pilloni
To assess the "workload" assigned to a person you are going to have to quantify the person's capacity for work and quantify the work required for each task.
If the person has the potential to be assigned to work in multiple Jira projects that can complicate those quantifications since projects may use different methods to quantify the work required to complete a task.
The Jira Standard plan does not have any good methods for specifying a person's capacity for work, nor sophisticated reporting for assessing a person's workload.
I don't believe you can get what you want with just native Jira functionality in the Standard plan. You may want to investigate the Atlassian Marketplace third party apps that can help you manage and report on the capacity of your team members.
Here is a search to help you find some of those apps:

Are you looking at this from the perspective of a manager of a team where you have no say in the projects the team members work on, or how the work gets assigned to them?
Or are you looking at this from the perspective of somebody who is managing projects and involved in the assignment of people to projects and work to people?
Are the projects being managed using Scrum or Kanban or some other methodology? What process are you currently following to determine what work should be assigned to what person? Do those discussions involve the person to whom the work is assigned?
