Redundant Sub task issue type

Jira PLCP Team March 12, 2017

Hi,

JIRA contains a issue type called "Sub Task" by default. It seems like we have accidentally created another subtask issue type called "Sub-task" (not the difference in names).

Now we want to delete the extra issue type "Sub-task" which was created but there are some sub tasks issues already existing with this issue type.

My question is how can we convert the issue type of these tasks from "Sub-task" (redundant) to "Sub task" (default) issue type?

Regards,

Zeeshan

You could try a bulk-edit, moving them all one type, or even one of the other types you might have.  You may have to fiddle with permissions to do it though.

But if you know that Sub-task is always going to be converted to Sub Task, just delete the unwanted one.  JIRA will ask you what to covert the existing ones to.
