Restrict fields to specific users/groups

JamesM June 4, 2014

Is there a way to restrict users or groups from viewing or edit specifc fields? Example: let's say we don't want some users to see who a ticket is assigned to, but want them to be able to edit all other fields. Can we restricted Assigned so it is not visible or editable to a user or group?

Jira doesn't do field-level security.

Standard workarounds are

1. Moving field edit into the workflow (which does nothing for visibility, but does let you control edit)

2. The Quisapps field security plugin

I'm afraid option 2 is not available for OnDemand Jira.
