Searching in dropdown list of Components

Hi!
We have the JIRA Server 8.5.7 installed. And we have large number of projects with thousands of components (it was migrated from Bugzilla SW).
Most of components has very long difficult names.
Searching in components' dropdown list is not comfortable to use, because it works only with initial letters of the string.
For example, we have the following components:
aaa_1
aab_2
aac_3
bbb_1
bbc_2
baa_33

So, if I enter "aa" substring in the dropdown search, I will get only suitable:
aaa_1
aaf_2
aac_3,
but the component "baa_33" will not be in list.

Is it possible to tune full string searching for components list? May be some other way exists to get such searching?

There are a couple of suggestions to improve component drop-downs, and nothing exactly what you are asking:

You may want to check the marketplace to see if there are any add-ons which could help.
