HI
in a company-managed project I created my Kanban board. In the dropdown for the board filter I see only two filters from the admin but none of mine. Why can't I choose my own filters as a board filter? I think this was possible some weeks ago...
Is this a permission issue? How need these filters to be set up to see it in the dropdown menu?
Working in the atlassian.net cloud.
Thanks for any help
Hi @Renato Morell - again, welcome to the Community! and thank you for opening a new thread :)
Are you referring to the Board filter or as @Gyeorye Lee suggests, the quick filters?
yes, I mean the board filter. As I understand, the quick filter is just on top of the board filter. So basically I should be able to set a board filter, right?

So, my filter is something like:project = xxx ORDER BY updated DESC
which I want to set as board filter and the I can acitvate the quick filter e.g. myIssues only

Exactly. The Board filter determines what issues are displayed and reported on. The Quick filter only filters the view and only for the user currently looking at the Board.
So what is your problem exactly? The Board Filter drop down ("Select Filter") doesn't show your filters?

Yes, I see 2 filters (from our admin I think), but not the ones I created. I thought because I'm the administrator of that board, I should see my filters.
I see that the 2 filters in the dropdown have the permissions viewer -> public
For my filters I cannot set the viewer persmission to public, only
I set the viewer permission to My organization, but also tried other settings with no success.
Is that a problem? Does our company admin have to create the filters that are available for board filters?

If there is a jira-user group under the Group, please add that to the viewer permission for the filter you want to add in the board.
and see whether you can select the filter in the drop down list of the board filter.
if this is not working, you need to reach out to your company’s admin to resolve the filter viewer permission issue. In my opinion, any Jira user should set the public view permission for their filters.

Thanks, but jira-users group didn't help.
I'll check with our admin how he can set viewer permission to public.

But you are the Owner of the Filter? Then @Gyeorye Lee is going down the wrong path.
Despite any view or edit permissions, you would be able to set the Filter as Board Filter, if you are the owner (or have view/edit permissions). So as long as you can access the filter outside the board, there is no problem there.
What happens if you create a new filter? Does that appear in the drop down?

Hmmm.. Rebekka is right.
As I understand, the drop down list will not show you all the filter list. Have you tried to search the filter you created in the Saved Filter box?

Thanks for replying, I also couldn't solve it with our admin.
I am the owner of the filter and can find it in the filters menu. I'm also the Administrator of the Kanban board. Also if I create a new filter it won't show up in the dropdown box.
Our admin also tried it, no success.
These 2 entries I see in the dropdown are filters that were created weeks ago. I also tried to copy one of these, still no success.
I'm sure this worked about a month (or so) ago. I could set my filter for the board.
Perhaps an update in the last weeks?
Just checked my internal documentation for that on Mar 06, 2024. At least then it worked!

Unfortunately, without access to your site, it's hard to do further analysing. I see you are a Premium customer. Go and ask the support for help - they can have a proper look and maybe try a re-index :)
Sorry we couldn't help you on here.

Hi Renato.
have you checked the Board Configuration -> Quick filter(?)?
