Set user picker field based on text field

Hi,

We would like to populate a user picker field like assignee or similar field based on free text field.

The free text field has the full name or display name of our users.

We have scriptrunner and are struggling to set this up

Could you please provide a little more information, i.e. when would you like to populate the Assignee field?

Is it on the Create screen via Behaviour or are you trying to do this via Listener or Post-Function?

Kindly provide this information, and I will try to provide an example code.

Hi,
Full name or display name is not uniqe definer. so you can reach user id but it will not permanent solution in long term.
