Slack Channel creation prefix/suffix can use smart values?

I am trying to use "Create Slack channel for incident" Jira Automation. I am trying to use smart values in the prefix and suffix fields. When I try, I get this error:

Channel name can't contain special characters other than underscore (_) and hyphen (-).

 I cannot find any documentation stating that I cannot use smart values in these fields.

The error seems to imply I cannot. Is this really the case or am I doing something wrong?

Prefix : 

inc-{{issue.created.format("yyyymmdd")}}

Suffix :

{{issue.summary}}

Hi @Brent Clark 

That does seem to be a limitation of that rule action.  You may want to create a new suggestion to add the capability or add your ideas to this existing one for improving Slack integration for automation rules:
