Our Burndown Chart stopped working today. Everything is blank. All was working fine until yesterday. Also the Edit option is missing from the gadget. We use on-prem Jira.
Anyone got any idea on what could be wrong?
Hello,
I am facing the exact same issue. Has anybody found a solution yet?
Kind regards,
Sarah
We've had exactly the same problem for the last 3 weeks. It seemed to start when we updated to Jira 8.8.
In the console log, the blank chart looks to tie up to this exception:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'getSelectedItem' of undefined

at Object.<anonymous> (com.atlassian.plugins.jquery:jquery.js:34)

Any ideas how we can solve this?
I've tried a complete re-index a couple of times to no avail.
Many thanks
Alex

I've tried doing a complete re-index a couple of times sadly to no avail.
Many thanks

Hello @Ciprian
Thank you for reaching out.
Indeed, there are some bugs in Jira Server application that can cause the Sprint burndown gadget to not display any information. Please, check if one of the bugs below is the one you are facing:
1 - Sprint burndown gadget doesn't display any data
This bug happens when the gadget owner selects a refresh interval of 15 minutes when creating the bug.
Workaround:
- If you are the owner of the Dashboard: Click Edit -> Cancel on the gadget configuration.
- If you are not, you can either:
- Copy that dashboard and then click Edit -> Cancel button Or
- Ask the owner of the board to change the Refresh Interval of the gadget to 15 minutes, the data will be loaded after 15 minutes.
2 - Unable to make Sprint Burndown Dashboard gadget public
This bug happens when the project returned in the gadget is completely public, with the 'Anyone' group added to the 'Browse Project' permission under project settings > Permissions.
Workaround:
Remove the 'Anyone' group added to the 'Browse Project' permission of the project returned in the gadget.

None of these 2 seems related to the problem reported.
I was not even able to edit the gadget because the Edit button was missing (only for this gadget). Removed it and add it back didn't help either.
The good news is that after the weekend everything seems have resumed and working 100%, without any changes whatsoever.
Jira works in mysterious ways.

Hello @Ciprian
I'm glad to know the problem is not happening anymore.
If it starts happening again, please check if there are any errors displayed in the Development tools of your browser and in your Atlassian.logs when loading the page, making sure to remove all the sensitive data from the logs before pasting it in this thread so we can further investigate it.
Have a nice day!

Hello Petter,
I am facing exact the same issue.
Because I do not have the required permission in order to share the atlassian.logs with you, I downloaded the log from the developer tools and the console log.
Kindly share an email address or a location with me, in which I can drop the files so you can access them. I was not able to find "upload file" function in this thread.
Best regards,
Maissa
