Sprints from other users show up on my backlog

Robert Veitch August 2, 2024

Is there anyway to only show sprints related to me that I create on my Backlog on my Board.

See screenshot below where Andre's sprint is on my Scrum Board, and I thought I would only see mine. (Bob's)

Thanks for any help.

Hello @Robert Veitch

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

There are two cases where a sprint will show up in a Scrum board:

1. The sprint was created from that scrum board.

2. The sprint contains an issue that is within the scope of the scrum board filter.

So, if Andre's sprint was not created in your board, then the KAN issues in it must be within the scope of your board's filter.

A board uses a Filter to determine which issues to display. If you don't want to see Andre's sprints in your board you need to modify your board's filter to exclude the issues assigned to those sprints.

There is not a simple way to change a filter to say "show me all the issues not in a sprint, plus show me all the issues in only the sprints created in this board".

Is there another way to identify the issues that would be in your sprints vs. Andre's sprints? Do the issues get assigned to you vs. Andre?

Yes, Andre has a similar scrum board with a similar filter where assignee is = to him.

My filter is as follows but I still see Andre's sprint.

I thoght adding assignee = to me would work but it doesn't?

project in (APEX,"Projects Reporting T","Credit Card Providers","Operabilty Reporting T") and status in ("Backlog Low Priority","To Do High Priority","IN PROGRESS",TESTING, Done) and assignee = 6154cc057a6be40071ab4027 ORDER BY created DESC

Did you navigate to the board configuration and confirm that the modified filter displays there?

Did you refresh your backlog screen after confirming that?

Was there any change to the display after that? Do you still see Andre's sprint. Do you still see the same issues listed in Andre's sprint?

Are the issues in Andre's sprint assigned to you?

Hello @Robert Veitch

It appears that you Accepted my Answer.

What ended up being the root cause of Andre's sprints showing in your board?

Robert Veitch August 5, 2024

The sprint contains an issue that is within the scope of the scrum board filter.

Hi @Robert Veitch

Welcome to the community!

You will need to modify the filter to show only issues assigned to you or add a label to the issues for them to show up on you backlog. Technically you need to tag your issues so that the Jira Filter can get those issues and only those issues will be shown on your backlog.
