Start Date and End Date in Kanban Board?

Michael Cerantola November 4, 2024

I've been searching the boards and see a lot of old posts from 2020 about not being able to successfully see the Start Date in the Kanban card layout.

A lot of fixes ask people to go to Configure > Board > Card Layout.  But I don't seem to have that option...just card cover images.

We see the start date when clicking into the card, but is there any way to display it on the main card? Some of our team is reporting that it would be very helpful to see

Hi @Michael Cerantola

Are you using a company or team managed project?

Card layout is available to see in company managed projects.

Well now I feel silly, because I am trying to find that info and cannot.....so maybe I assume.

Oh, I see. I most likely chose a team project because I am not a full admin in the system... :/  I wonder if I should recreate it now as a company managed board

Nikola, Can you convert a team managed project into a company managed one, or would I need to restart? I see all the new settings!

Hey @Michael Cerantola

You cannot convert it directly, rather moving all of the tickets from team managed to company managed project by using the bulk move issues. You need to have the Create issues permissions in new company managed project.

These are the impacts: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/migrate-between-team-managed-and-company-managed-projects/

Thanks so much, Nikola.

We have over 12,000 issues in this board and only 1000 work as a bulk, so I'm going to purge the completed issues and try this out. I expected it might be this, which is why I started purging yesterday.
