Structure Tasks as children of Stories

Guys,

I run a team-managed scrum project. By default I can assign epcis to tasks and stories. Both have sub-tasks as children.

What I want is to assign ONLY stories to epics, tasks to stories and sub-tasks to tasks.

So that it will create a nice hirachichal structure and both stories and tasks can still be planned on the backlog.

Welcome to the community!

One approach would be to remove the epic link field from the tasks.  But you would have to use some validations to meet the other needs.

But honestly, the easiest approach is to train your team to do it properly and have a dashboard to audit that people dont link items the wrong way.
