Tasks and sub-task dates update automatically

From what i have found there is no automatic method for a sub-task start and end date to change automatically if the end date of a parent task changes.  Do i really need to create automations for something this simple?  I am trying to change over from MS Planner where i can move a task forward on the timeline and the sub-tasks automatically adjust.  Without this very basic function, this will be a hard-sell in my organization.  Am I missing something?

Yes, you really do have to create automation rules for this.
