New to Jira. What is best way/tool to pull user info/roles from system?

Rob October 31, 2018

Hi, I am new to Jira.  Looking for the best way to pull all of the users and roles out of the system on a regular basis (probably weekly).  Received a request from somebody for this data.  However, I see a need since we just turned up the tool two weeks ago, that there will be an ongoing need for this data.  I was hoping someone in the community would be able to help me out.

Thanks,

Rob

It should be enabled by default. Please take a look on this page

https://developer.atlassian.com/server/jira/platform/rest-apis/

and a quick video

Mirek, We do not have the JIRA REST API setup.  Is that something that you just have to enable, or do you need to load it?

I would try with JIRA REST API and making a script automate this and do something with the data (as you mentioned that there might be a need to get this data very often). That is free solution and should work. If not I would look at Marketplace for addons (there are couple that allow filtering and exporting users lists)
