The database collation 'Latin1_General_CI_AS' and table collation 'SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS' are

Deleted user July 9, 2020

Hello,

We'd like to have your help in order to surpass the problem with the collation associated with the jira's database.

We installed the Jira Software 8.5.4 with the Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and after follow all the steps related to the installation, on our first login we received the message "The database collation 'Latin1_General_CI_AS' and table collation 'SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS' are not supported by Jira". We tried unsuccessful to change the collation following the steps described in this link and we had some errors related to the database fields. During this time some users were creating issues on the plataform and we're still can't change succefully the collation.

We would like to have your help so that we can alter the collation.

P.S: We have a licence for Jira Software, is it possible to re-install it again with the right collation confs and use the existing licence again?

Best Regards

Atlassian has a doc for that.

You could also perform an XML backup of the instance, set up a new database instance with the correct collation, and import the XML data back in.
