Hi there!
My team uses a kanban board and we've noticed that some tickets (bugs, epics, tasks) do not appear on the board. From what I can tell, there are no filters causing these tickets to be hidden from the kanban view and they are assigned to our board. Additionally, the number of tickets in each status are correct but when you search for the specific ticket, it doesn't show up in the search results.
Curious how others have approached this issue.
Thanks!
Hello,
Welcome to community :)
Please check this article than can help you understand this : https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/issues-are-not-appearing-in-boards-including-agile-reports/
You can also check below detials
- if its a team managed kanban board and you have backlog enabled, you will have to drag drop the issues from backlog to board
- please check if the issues are not more than 5k in the boards
- Kindly verify if all columns are mapped and there is no subfilter in the board
- Please check if there is no issue security set in your project that is causing this issue
Thank You,
Prachi
Welcome to the community!
I would check the columns screen to see if all the status are being accounted for.
Navigate to Board Settings->Layout->Columns.
Check if any of them are showing in Unmapped statuses and drag them to appropriate swim lane.
Hope this helps.

Hi @Katie_Rosman -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
What type of project are you using with the Kanban board: company-managed or team-managed? You may find that information in the list of projects.
Kind regards,
Bill

Hi Bill,
It's a team-managed project. I'm not super familiar with how the backlog works but I know that the backlog is enabled though in the project settings. I don't see any tickets in that unassigned status when I check the project settings.
I don't believe there is a particular filter on our board either (see pic below)
An example of a ticket that we know exists on the board but is not showing is ICSS-290

Thanks for that information, @Katie_Rosman
When you go to the backlog view, is ICSS-290 in the section at the top for the board or in the section at the bottom for the backlog?
If in the backlog section, you may drag it up to the board section, or right-click on it and select Move item to board.

Hi Bill,
How do I get to the backlog view?
I was experimenting and I turned off the backlog feature. I now see ICSS-290 in the correct column on our kanban board but when I enter "290" nothing comes up. When I search "ICSS-290" the ticket shows up correctly. Is this expected behavior? Do I always have to type out the full ticket name?
Thank you!

Working through your questions...
How do I get to the backlog view?
If you have the Backlog feature enabled, "backlog" will appear as one of the selectable tabs, just like Summary, Timeline, Board...
And...because when you disabled the Backlog feature the work item appeared on the board, that means it was never added to the board originally.
When you disable the Backlog feature, Jira automagically adds those work items to the board, based upon their status / column. If you now re-enabled the Backlog feature, the next time you view the board Jira will show a pop-up question asking if everything in the first board column should move to the backlog.
When I search "ICSS-290" the ticket shows up correctly. Is this expected behavior? Do I always have to type out the full ticket name?
Yes, it seems after the latest round of UX changes, you must enter the full key to search in a Team-managed Project. This is not the case for a Company-managed Project.

welcome to the community and thank you for your question.
Could you post the filter behind the Kanban board?
