Time Tracking "Original Estimate" Mandatory in Software project

We are looking to make the "original estimate" field mandatory (with the red asterisk) during issue creation. 

I was able to do this using a Workflow Validator, but this doesn't add the red asterisk. 

I don't see a way to make this field (or Time Tracking) mandatory as part of the field configuration as there doesn't seem to be one for Software Projects. If we make this mandatory on the default screen config, it will impact all projects which we don't want. 

Can someone offer clarity around what I'm attempting to do?

Hi Kurtis,

You can make the "Original Estimate" field mandatory for just your project without affecting others by using field configurations and schemes!

Here's the basic idea:

1. Create a new field configuration scheme
2. Create a new field configuration and associate it with the scheme
3. Associate the scheme with your project
4. Edit the new field configuration and make the "Time Tracking" field required

This will make "Original Estimate" mandatory for your project only, like shown in the screenshot below:
