Hi, I have enabled time tracking however none of the issue time tracking is working? When i open an issue it has "No time logged". I thought when the issue is moved into the In Progress status that the time would begin to be logged?

Hello @Daniel Flynn,

Jira time tracking works in a purely manual way so you need to select "Log Work" action and type the amount of time you want to log.

Fortunately, there are apps available in Atlassian Marketplace that can automate this process for you, e.g. Clockwork Automated Timesheets (it is a free app). 

Clockwork app will do exactly what you expect, i.e. it will start the timer when an issue is moved to "In Progress" status. When the issue is moved to "Done", it will stop the timer and log time. 

Clockwork stores the time in Jira worklog so you can still use Jira built-in reports and other time tracking functionality.

Actually, you need to log the work whenever you start working on a particular ticket...it will not add automatically.

You should add the time tracking filed on the screen.

Thankyou for your reply, so are you saying the time tracking function is managed manually? I was under the impression that when an issue is transitioned into in progress this would start the timer function?

Yes, let say if you have been worked an hour to a ticket then you need to manually log the work ..on ticket view screen you at right top corner you will ... > log work

But i did not understand how the plugin will know how much time the user has been really spent to complete that task....if the plugin will track n log work basis of status then its fine.
