Problem Description: We are unable to fetch Jira worklog data using a Google Colab script. Colleagues within my department are experiencing the same issue. However, colleagues from other departments are able to successfully fetch the data for which they have permission.

Details:

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open the Google Colab notebook.

  2. Click on the "Runtime" menu and select "Run all".

Expected Result (Behavior before Oct 15): The script completes successfully and generates the data report within approximately 5 minutes.

Actual Result (Current Behavior): The script runs for about 30 minutes, then fails and displays the await connected: disconnected error message. No data report is generated.

await connected: disconnected
Error: await connected: disconnected

Hi @Dali_chi

How is connection made to Jira in this script, what API endpoint are you using to get data from Jira?

And for the error described, this seems to be on the Google side not Atlassian?

Does the user the API token belongs to has enough access or Access at all?

What kind of token is this a full token or a scoped token?

HI @Marc - Devoteam

Thank you for your response.

Does the user the API token belongs to has enough access or Access at all?

Yes

How is connection made to Jira in this script, what API endpoint are you using to get data from Jira?

After updating the Jira API endpoint to the latest version (/rest/api/3/search/), we are experiencing incomplete data when fetching worklogs using Colab.

Problem Summary:

1.Data Fetching Failure: My colleagues in the same department and I are unable to fetch the data, but a colleague from a different department can successfully fetch data they have permission to access.

2.Permission Concerns: We previously tested adding and deleting custom fields, and during that time, an issue occurred where users with different permissions could see each other's projects.

Is this problem related to Jira permission settings or field configurations? Where can I check and modify these settings to resolve the issue?

Thank you.

Hi @Dali_chi

Where do the colleagues form the other department have access to?

If you want to get work logs form issues in a project, the users API key used withint the script will need to be at least a member of the projects you want to get the information from.

The user needs to be assigned a role or be in a group that has at least permission to  browse the project.

This is stated in the permission scheme used on the project.
