Unable to integrate Jira with HipChat

I am using the Jira trial period and I am trying to integrate with HipChat. I am following the directions but, as I click "Connect with HipChat" I get a window that requests my email and password. I enter my Jira credentials but get a message indicating the email or password are wrong. I have confirmed my Jira credentials as being correct.

Do I need to sign up with HipChat separately before I can integrate with Jira? I am the admin for the Jira account and I attempted to make the connection as an admin with the same results.

Below is the link I received from Jira support for directions. What credentials should I use to perform this integration?

Thanks for your question!

I believe you have to sign up for a Hip Chat account first at least that's what is required when connecting Hipchat with Bamboo so I think It should be same with Jira as well. You could give it a try and share your results here.

I ended up creating an account with Stride which I believe is HipChat and now I am in business. Thank you for the feedback
