I am not able to view a project via project drop down menu, however if I access via the gear I can see it.

Also if I click Back to Project in the Project Settings I get an error.  Please note I am the project lead and part of the administrator group.

Imagine you have two hats.

When you are wearing your user hat, you can't see the project because the permissions don't let you.

When you are wearing your admin hat, you can see all the project admin stuff because you're an admin, and that's what's under the admin cog.

Wearing your admin hat, you can examine the permission scheme for the project and work out how to grant your user-hatted self the "browse project" permission that it needs.
