Undo a workflow schema association to a project

I was testing out some workflow schema changes to a project in QA and accidentally ended up applying the changes in production. This has resulted in many stories which were in closed status to return to Backlog due to the new workflow not having the transition status.

Can anyone help me with undoing this change/ restore the project to the state where it existed? Any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

Try to restore JIRA from backup on test instance and export project from test instance to production one.
