Hello @all,
we try to update our Jira (datacenter) from version 8.2 to 8.12.
The update to 8.5 works without any problems.
But if we use the install file for 8.12 (or 8.11/ 8.6 / 8.5.2) the installation failed.
Or rather, the installation doesn´t end an doesn´t show any error messages.
In the background works a batch file and the processor is under pressure, but doesn´t end.
I´m sure thats only a simple misstake I make, but which one?
I hope someone have a solution.
Thanks for the fast answer.
We try differerent users with different rigths. And we also run the install file as administrator.
The strange thing is, that it was possible to update our jira version from 8.4.0 to 8.4.1 to 8.4.2
... to 8.5.1 .
Jira Version 8.5.2 (or a later version) doesn´t work any more.
We try it all at the same day/ week with same userrigths and installation process.
We will try the alternative installation with the zip files.
My first question is "Are you running the install as Admin?" That is to say, did you right click the installer and click "Run as Administrator?" (see picture)
Assuming you are, and it's still failing, you might want to attempt a Zip install.

This is a bit more advanced than the installer but not terrible as installs go. It will at least let you get past the "installation" part of your testing.
