Use the Insight object type page layout to create and/or edit objects?

Is there any way to use the Object Type page layout to create and/or edit objects?  

If not, are there any plugins available to do that?

My users want to organize how attributes are displayed when creating or editing an object.

They don't need Jira functionality, just inventory management.

Any idea how I can do that?
