Hi,
We are looking to rename our Atlassian URL, which I know is possible:
https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/can-i-change-the-url-used-to-access-a-product/
I was wondering what happens to the users that have already been registered under the old domain. Will they have to be manually edited to have their new username reflect the new URL domain?
For example: manually change the username and email of User1@xyz.com to User1@zyx.com, or will that happen automatically with the URL change?
Thanks,
David
Hi @David Kernaghan The URL update only refers to the site name, this is not related to the domain change for a user account.
Example:
This does not change the email domain for the user accounts, those stay on acme.com
If your user accounts change their domain, f.e. from acme.com to acyou.com then do the following:
If you want to update the email address of a managed account to another email address, make sure you’ve verified the domain for the email you want to update to.
To change the email address for an account:
Go to Atlassian Administration. Select your organization if you have more than one.
Select Directory > Managed accounts.
Select a user to open the managed accounts page.
Select the email address field and enter the updated email address.
You can only update an email address if the new email address also belongs to a domain you verify for your organization. If you’re unable to verify the domain, let the user know they can create a new Atlassian account with that email address.
