Currently we have the following hierarchy:
Level Name Jira Issue Types Links/Relationships
1. Epic --> Feature Child Issue capability
2. Capability --> Capability Parent Link EPIC, Child Issue Feature
3. Feature --> Feature Parent Link Capability, Issue Links Stories/subtasks
4. Story --> All other Feature Link
5. Subtasks --> All other
Want to create a plan in AR that shows all Features and their issue links stories.
Ideally would like to be able to see traceability of Capability to Feature to Story. Is this possible? Thinking that we can show the Capability to Feature relationship in a plan but not the Stories, because it is not a Parent/child relationship link.
Is there a way to do what I am wanting?
Hi @Liz Craig - AR hierarchy is intended to be where Epic and below remain out-of-the box (e.g. Epic >> Story/Task >> Sub-Task). So, hierarchy should be above the epic. You may want to reconsider your structure to support this or consider a 3rd party app like Structure.
Thank you! It is different than the standard hierarchy. I was successful getting this to display in structures, but it is needed in AR for planning.
I seem to be able to show the parent/child link using our current hierarchy of Epic parent and Capability child.
Not able to show the parent/child link using our hierarchy of Capability parent and Feature child. Could this be because of the issue type for Epic and Feature are both defined for Feature, and AR only sees the one issue type Feature? Was also wondering if AR is dependent on the parent/child linkage and linked issue?

I don't know that there's a way to make your hierarchy work like that. Take a look at this article which gives a good rundown on typical AR hierarchy:
