Where can I see email notification settings in next-gen projects?

I'm not getting emails when a new ticket is created in my next-gen project.  However, I don't see the notifications anywhere in my settings.

Where can I go to check this?

Hi @PK

Notification Schemes aren't available for Next Gen Projects yet - see JSWCLOUD-17157

This answer suggests that all users mentioned in issues (Assignee, Reporter, Watchers) should get notifications - doesn't mention issue creation though.

I would envisage notifications still function for where specific users are mentioned - but for general actions (such as creation), this would be apart of a scheme.

Try assigning an issue to a user and see if they get the notification email?

You'll need to activate "Notifications of your changes" if you want to receive emails for your actions also - you can do this via your user icon (bottom-left) > settings > Notifications of your changes > Notify me.

@Inactive Stephen, thanks for the response.  I do get responses to comments, as to users, so it seems that if someone is mentioned they do get the response.

I would like to set myself as the default assignee, but don't see an option for that.  A new issue shows Automatic as the assignee, but not me (default) as the old-gen used to.  Any ideas?

Hi @PK

There isn't an option for default assignee at this stage I'm afraid; there used to be a work-around but it no longer works.

As an alternative, you could:

  • Go to Issues > Search
  • Search for issues created in you project within a small timeframe - eg. every 30 mins
  • Save your search filter
  • Choose Details > New subscription
  • Setup a subscription to send you updates every 30 minutes with any newly created issues

If you want the issues to assign also - you can extend the above. Your best option for auto-assignment are via Manage Rules (in options in top-right of Next Gen board). You can't set the assignee at creation - but heres a possible alternative worth trialing:

  • Users created issues in your Next Gen project and go into the first status
  • Set the assignee rule based on the first transition - your second status being your "To Do"
  • Create an issue search for issues created in your project and setup a subscription to send you regular updates for issues created.
  • Then you can see their creation and move them to the next status to assign to you.

Let me know if these work for you :)
