Hello,
I was on a trial subscription that I believe ended today and I am now on a free subscription. I have been using the Clone Plus app to clone Epics and all their children in bulk. After performing the clone action today I got an error message saying You need Create Issue permission from your Jira admin to clone this issue.". Is that related to my trial ending and some permission change issue? The "Create Issue" permission sounds pretty basic. Is there something I can do about it or I simply need a paid subsumption?
Yes this is related as on a free subscription no permission can be set on Jira projects.
So are you still able to create issues on projects in Jira?
Does the user "atlassian-addons-project-access" still have create permissions and browse (as this is the minimal permission needed)
Hi Marc and thanks for the response.
I just created a Task under one of my projects/spaces no problem.
As I am still getting used to setting permissions etc, could you please guide me to check what you mention last?:

Thanks again.

I don't see "atlassian-addons-project-access" at all.
Am I looking at the correct place?

Check the permission scheme used on the project, not the permissions in administration.
Are all permission granted to the Space Role: atlassian-addons-project-access

So,
Under project/space settings -> Access its set for:
Am I providing you what you need? Or am I looking at the right place?
Thanks again for trying to help out!

So this is a team-managed project.
This has no permission scheme.
IS clones plus under the apps section of the project?

Sorry for the delay @Marc - Devoteam
I currently have 2 projects/spaces.
When I go into the settings of any of the 2 projects, under apps the Clone Plus app is not located there. However I was previously using it, I know that within the Jira -> apps -> Clone Plus for Jira section you get to configure clone operations and from what project to what project the newly cloned tickets go. I have a feeling each clone is only managed there and not within the project itself.
Any further ideas? Please let me know if you have further questions.

Can you provide details (screenshots of the config of the app)?
Is the app still active, I see @Valerie Knapp asked this as well, but it seems to be not the case.
Or reach out to the developer Appfire, to see what can be the case.

I hope this is of help.
Thanks again for trying to assist.

To me permission seems ok, but what if you disable the restrictions in the app configuration, does it work then?
If so the set restrictions, then seem to not to be working or not correct.

Hi @Marc - Devoteam ,
Are you referring to these settings?:How would I disable the restrictions?
Thanks.

Yes, just leave atlassian-addons-admin, and org-admin and add jira-users-steurberatung-ovadias
And try again.

Hello @Marc - Devoteam ,
Same issue with the suggested groups. The popup for setting up the clone appears and then disappears for the error to pop up.
I still get the error:
Thanks for trying.

@Marc - Devoteam hi again,
Thanks for putting all this effort and time to assist.
I tried to sum things up with screenshots.

Using the chance to explain that I am a free user and I am starting to think it worked previously when I had a free Atlassian trial for a couple of week. Now only the Clone Plus is on a trial.
Further adding my clone configuration:

Behind the project setting option, press the 3 dot option and presse delete.
I tried the app on a free instance and had no permissions per project sert and created a clone action ant this worked

I believe I am looking in the wrong place.
Behind the Project/Space settings and then the 3 dots I see the settings for the project.
Should I be looking else where?
Can you guide me or send screenshots?

In. the app settings, that you showed in the screenshot from yesterday 8:28PM.
On the project permissions for the app, there are also 3 dots behind the groups section, press these 3 dots and then delete.

Perfect! That did the job thanks. However I believe that allows everyone to perform bulk clone that is not ideal. Do you believe I am limited to this in free Atlassian subscription? Or can you suggest some restrictions for me? I will be playing with it myself. Thanks ever so much. :)

This is as a free instance you can't use granular permissions. This is only available on a paid plan

Ok thanks again. This is still of great help.
Have a great rest of the day.

The only 3 dots immediately after the Project/Space settings are the ones for the project and the only options are:
I fell I am looking at the wrong place.
Or are you suggesting I recreate the clone operation?
Can you guide me where to go or maybe provide some screenshots please?
Thanks.

Hi @Vasileios Kostogiannakis , thanks for your post. I wonder if the issue is that the trial for the app / plugin is expired. You can have the free version of Jira as long as your stay under 10 users but most apps are paid after the 30 day trial. Please can you check this?

Hi Valerie,
It appears I am still on a Free 30-day trial of the app. So that does not appear to be an issue.
My free Jira trial may be causing permission issues Or what should I be looking for to correct the permissions and the Create Issue permission error when I try to run the bulck clone.
Thanks.
