summary: how can we create an automation rule that spans multiple JIRA projects?
details:
if possible, we also want to be more specific as our Software board is divided into different sections; To Be Refined, To Be Sized, Backlog, and Current Sprint. Can the automation rule also indicate in our Ideas Intake board which of those 4 sections it is currently in?
Hello @Rory Scherer
I just have some question to clarify your scenario.
What type of project is Ideas Intake? It doesn't appear to be a Software project. I suspect maybe it is a Jira Product Discovery project. You can find the Project Type information on the View All Projects page under the Projects menu.
Also please provide the Type information for the Software project. It looks like it may be Team Managed Software vs. Company Managed Software, which may be important to the solution.
The Software board appears to be a Scrum board where the To Be Refined and To Be Sized "sections" are sprints that you haven't started. I would assume then that Backlog is the actual Backlog outside of any sprint. Do you ever have more than one sprint active in the board at the same time?
Do the items in Ideas Intake correlate 1 to 1 with an item in the Software project?
