can we write custom validations for custom fields in Epic issues jira agile??

Hi,

I have some business rules and custom validations for my JIRA all issue types .

How can i active these business rules to EPIC issue type of JIRA agile .

If not how can i write my rules to apply for this Epic issue type?

what do you mean by business rules - could you explain this a bit deeper.
There are no business rules in JIRA so what you want to activate?

I think your issue can be resolved with conditions and validators in the workflow... but not sure if I get you right.

For example: versions custom field should accept of type xx.xx.xx and depending on issue type we need to have check soe option while creation or editing of the issue... Hope you understood

A versions custom field lists the current versions you've named in the project You can use validators to check the input on creating an issue, but you cannot validate "edit" actions on an issue - there's nothing to tie a validator to.
