cannot add users to groups which are not visible to you??

hi,

we have a group- Confluence-admins in JIRA. the same group exists in Confluence as well. im a memeber of this group in confluence. when i try to add myself or anyone to the group in JIRA, i get an error saying that users cannot be added to groups not visible.

what is this message saying ?

It looks like an issue with case sensitivity of the group - are you using REST to add members to the group? Please see The REST API endpoints /rest/api/2/group and /rest/api/2/group/members are not case sensitive, while /rest/api/2/group/user is case sensitive
