main project issue page greyed out

When I access the issues page of a project, say this kind of url https://jira/projects/Projects/issues/Project-218?filter=allopenissues, the pannel with the issues list and the pannel with the highlighted issues are greyed out and unclickable.

Changing the filter doesn't help. 

This is not the case for all the projects. I can't find oud why and, nothing in log file that helped me. 

We started having this issue a few days ago, but there was no update or big event in our environment. I've asked around, but no clues.

When inspecting the page, we found some javascript code related to backbone issue sync add on failing.

Our backbone was 5.2.2 and k15t support advised us to update to 5.3.1, which fixed the issue.
