Hi Atlassian team,
I got it, you love to move stuff around just because. But why? Please stop breaking everything.
What the heck is this supposed to "solve":
The issue type (no, it's not a "work type") selector used to be on the left side, easily visible before starting to type. Now it's on the far right and forces me to look there instead of just typing away because it remembers the last issue type used so that I have to check each time. And it's not even anymore in sync with the table above. This feels like a change driven by a non dev, asking "why is there a selector? It's all tasks, move that out of my way, I do not want to select something else".
What a mess. This is the worst UX decision in a very long time. Why are you making all these unasked changes? Before making changes to an important tool, can you please ask some of your developers about their opinion instead of letting have the "yay, it's all some fun workplace stuff, giggle, giggle, now lets add some fireworks" faction the last saying? Some of us have real work to do, do not scare us away.
It's difficult to sell the advantage of having a SSOT while suffering from an increasingly dysfunctional UI - and you guys are heading towards breakup at a really fast pace. If you do not longer want developers as customers then just say so.
Hi @Dirk Lachowski , I appreciate your frustration. Living on the cloud can be challenging with all the frequent change. With that said the Community Q&A isn't the best place to have your feedback consumed by an Atlassian PM. I recommend you use the in-app feedback link under the "?" Icon in upper right. Ha...hopefully that is still the location. 😆
Thanks, but I’m rather venting, not looking for a solution. Atlassian not monitoring this forum is part of the problem we’re facing. And I’m not jumping throuh hoops to deliver my feedback - that’s something the vendor has to collect and they should it make as easy as possible.
I don’t know how your company is handling it, but we collect all customer feedback and throw it at Product Discovery. So, ignoring this huge oportunity is a big red flag. Btw. the Product Discovery team seems to monitor this forum - they are doing a great job.
Atlassian currently has the advantage of the only really integrated offering after GitLab failed miserably delivering one, but maybe Monday buys Linear one day… Ignoring customers’ voice is a great way to decrease stress and increase profit - until a better competitor shows up and kicks you out. And there’s also Aha! as an option.
