Recently Jira (Cloud) added a new "Resolution" field to our "issue creation" screen. This appears to be a bug. In the "Field Configuration Scheme" the "Resolution field" is listed for just two screens where the "Resolution" field is indeed necessary, but not the issue creation screen. And looking at the fields for the issue creation screen in the settings, "Resolution" is missing there. But when I actually create a new issue, the settings are ignored and the Issue Creation screen is rendered with a "Resolution" field.
After this bug, we get the usual problems associated with a "Resolution" field popping up in the wrong screens. The field is mandatory, which means all issues created are broken.
Is there a workaround?
No, Jira Cloud did not add a resolution field to your issue creation screen.
One of your admins did it.
Remove the mandatory flag that they added from the field configuration and it should go back to working.
