timezone bug with the reports in next gen jira

Andrew Norman February 24, 2022 edited

a couple of weeks ago a bug was introduced that affects the burndown and burnup reporting.

Our project is on the west coast (PST) and now when we do our sprint planning, our shuffling of tickets before we start the sprint now shows up in the reporting.

This appears to be an issue between the timezone that the report logic is using and the timezone that jira is using with realtime changes.

If there was a way to attach a screenshot of the reports I would

expected:

reports should only show the changes to the sprint after the sprint has started

actual

reports show the introduction and removal of stories / story points in the sprint in the moments before the sprint was started.

Hi Andrew,

I understand that you believe there is a bug in regards to these reports in Jira Cloud.  Unfortunately, I was not able to find any other reports of this particular bug so far.  So I created a support case on your behalf over in https://getsupport.atlassian.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/48/PCS-82797

Perhaps we can gather more information about your environment there including the projects in question and possibly the screenshots as well.  This could help us to better understand the scope of the problem here.

Thanks

Andy
