In most cases,  we'll create a board then create a column for each status (sometimes we'll map two or more statuses to a single column) and map the status to the column.

Now the problem arises here when we have the workflow with different statuses like Cancelled/Rejected, Closed/Resolved/Done.

To Do -> In progress -> In test -> Cancelled -> Resolved/Done

To map the workflow status we created a column like To Do, In Progress, Cancelled, and Done &  mapped them to each column, the Done column is the right-most column.

now whenever Sprint managers complete the current sprint the canceled user stories also move to the future/next sprint.

To avoid this issue, we asked the managers to map the Cancelled status to the Done column as its the right-most column on the board, and the Jira board treats the user stories as completed under this column but they are not acceptable as the canceled ticket is/not be dome/resolved. Canceled/Rejected has its own meaning.

I hope most of the users come from this problem. Any suggestion will be very appreciated.

Thank you

Change the name of the right most column to "No More Work Needed", and map the Done and Cancelled Statuses to it. Then the name of the column does not imply that work was "done", only that no more work is needed. Both Done and Cancelled are valid as "no more work needed".

There is no issue here, you've rightly mapped your "needs no more attention" status into the done column on the board, because they are done.

For reporting, you probably do want those different status, but you can simply report on the status instead of the column.

There is a very common misconception that "done" means "we did something about it and now no longer need to think about it".

It does not.

Exactly as @Trudy Claspill says, "done" really means "we looked, it has been dealt with". Even when the action is "cancel, say there is nothing to do, or we're not going to do anything because we don't need to", it's still simply "done", the same way anything you've developed and delivered.
