Hey community,
I'm about ready to bang my head against a wall here.
I decided to add the Jira Misc Custom Fields add-on for the sole purpose of creating a calculated number field. Their installation guide actually has me install the "Jira Misc Workflow Extensions" app (JMCF wasn't even searchable at all in the app marketplace).
I installed the JMWE app successfully and reviewed their post-installation documentation to confirm.
When I navigated to Issues>Custom Fields>Advanced, I had expected a new option "Calculated Number Field" to appear, however it did not show up. I read through their help article on calculated fields which was not helpful since it assumes you actually see the calculated number field option...
I don't see anything in the app settings about enabling this feature or anything like that.
What am I missing? How do I get the calculated number field as an option for my issue's custom fields?
You can't install JMCF on your Jira Cloud instance because... it doesn't exist. JMCF is currently not available for the Cloud, because of Jira Cloud limitations.
However, JMWE does allow you to create fields whose value will be calculated from other fields. See https://www.innovalog.com/jira-blog/event-based-actions
Got it, thanks! I understand how it works now. The video provided on that page was very helpful.
Thanks!
UPDATE: I had a syntax question but was able to figure it out!
