This question is regarding the use of Jira Email This Issue (JETI).
I would like to render comments in reverse order (newest to oldest) in my email template.
From the JETI documentation for Jira Server, the following syntax is available:
#renderCommentsInReverseOrder($!issue)
Please let me know if there is an equivalent syntax for JETI for Jira Cloud. I have been struggling to find it.

Hello,
I tried both
#renderCommentsInReverseOrder($!issue)
and
#renderCommentsInReverseOrder($!issue.comments)
but none of them worked.
(the emails contain the command instead of the result of the rendering)

Exactly :) The above comments that you have tried only work if you are using the Jira Server version of JETI.
For the cloud version, they are still working on it.
I have raised a support ticket to the developers of JETI. You can monitor the status here:

UGH! I was just beating my head on the ground trying to get this to work in Cloud. The "cloud" documentation says it is there but I could not get it to work so I opened a ticket. Then I decided to look at the Community and found this thread. very frustrating if the answer is 'we are working on it. oh and the documentation is wrong.'
I will report back here once I hear back the latest but if it is just 10d later I don't expect anything new.

As an update, this has been working for a while. Have been using it and it works.
