My Community Site display different (and poorly) on different monitors and browers.

Tonya Hays August 17, 2012

I am not a computer program but an HR person. My computer just starting using Confluence based intranet with a Wiki Markup / Rich Test editor. I do not ANY programming lanugage! My boss wants me to add a community site and there is absoluting no training, classes or assistance!

I thought I did a good job after programming for 30 hours straight (you experts could have done it in an hour!). When I went to present to my boss on our old, and non-wide screen laptob, it lookede horrible! I ened up showing it to her on my screen. Tonight I went to show it to my husband who has more computer knowlege, and I have the same size monitor at home as I do at work. It was still awful!

Depsite having columns that total 100% @1@3%1@22%">1@22%1@3%1@50%@1@3%1@22%, my first and last columns are definately not equal! The 1st looks to be 12-13% and the last looks to be at least 35%. I am hopeless confused and have to present this to my department VP Monday. HELP!!

Greetings!

Sorry to hear about the format frustrations, especially given you were up against a deadline.

I realize some time has passed now so was just curious if you have had an opportunity to explore importing templates in Confluence? More specifically, we offer the ability to import the following:

Charts
Document List
Meeting Notes
Multimedia Content
RSS News Feed
Tasklist
Three-Column Layout
Two-Column Layout

  • To get started, import the global templates that Confluence comes with and then customise them as needed.
  1. Under the Configuration section, select Import Templates. You will see the list of default templates. To preview a template, click the template name.
  2. Select the templates you want to use and the space to import them into, and then click Import. The templates are imported.
  3. Follow the instructions on the page to edit the templates as needed.

Finally, I included a link that discusses various ways to add more features if interested:

I hope this information was helpful.

Cheers,
