Can you hide issues from certain users on a next gen board

Hi,

I know this is possible in classic boards using issue security etc.  However I cant find a way to make it work on the next gen kanban boards.

What i am trying to do is allow team members to create personal tickets within the kanban so they can capture things which may be sensitive so should not be visible to the whole team.  Ideally to do this by setting up a specific issue type for this purpose or setting up an automation when a certain label is used.

e.g - when an issue is created using the 'private' issue type the issue is only displayed to the reporter, assignee and watchers of the issue.

It is also not possible yet to have multiple boards in next-gen so that kiboshed the only  workaround idea i could think of.

Thanks

Hi Melanie,

You can actually create a second, new board that shows Next-gen issues.

Create your filter first, and then share it with who should have access. Something like,

Project = ABC and issuetype = "Not Sensitive"

Or however you are filtering out the sensitive stuff.

Go to your list of boards and click on Create board

Choose either Kanban or Scrum

Choose create based on an existing Filter.

Then attach it to the new filter you just created.

For the Location field, you will not be able to use a Next-gen, Business, or JSM Project - only Classic Software projects. Or you can link to your profile - probably best in this case. But this will not keep the board from working - it really only cares about the project(s) in the filter.

Then you are all set. You can modify the board as you need to.

But that would still not prevent them from seeing the original Next-gen board itself.

Hi John,

Thank you very much for this, it gives me a good workaround until the functionality is available. It worked perfectly :)

Thanks for your help

There is no way to hide issues in Next-gen projects yet.
